2020 Specifier and Architect Survey

I am frustrated by many "Specified Product" websites. The website design appears to be focused on sucking in all the free Google visitors they can and not making a useful site for product research.

The web designer does not understand what information is needed to evaluate the product for inclusion into the project design and specifications.

I believe that most specifiers, project architects and design team members work on a computer, many with multiple displays and not a smartphone.

This survey will take 4 minutes to complete according to Survey Monkey. There are 5 questions:

  1. What do you use for your design and specification product research - computer, smart phone or paper?
  2. How do you evaluate products to incorporate into your design and specification?
  3. Do you use social media (LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter) for product introductions and product research?
  4. Where do you start your product research - Google, MasterSpec, BSDSpeclink, Sweets or 4specs?
  5. What do you want to find on the manufacturer's website?

There are 4 questions so we understand your role, age and projects worked on.

  1. What is your role in the design process - specifier, project architect or design team member
  2. What is your age?
  3. How many projects do you work on each year?
  4. What is the estimated value of the projects you work on each year?

I plan to use the survey results while working with marketing and advertising people at manufacturers. My goal is to have web designers understand what you need to do your work.
