Many marketing people I talk with are planning to use a consultant to review their website to optimize for the best results with Google, Bing and Yahoo.

Jill Whalen has a great website on SEO. I get her monthly newsletter and like her simple, common-sense approach. Her November 2011 newsletter focused on:

I also like Bruce Clay's newsletters and website on SEO. His January 2012 newsletter focused on his 16 predictions for SEO in 2012.

Google's increased focus on local results will make it more difficult for a building product manufacturer to get national exposure to architects, specifiers, engineers and others in the commercial / institutional space. His comment was:

"As a result, SEO becomes more difficult for national non-local businesses."
