About the Listings, which are paid and which are free
Our icons tell our users find which advertisers have CSI-formatted specs, CAD, BIM and LEED information online for their products. Here are the requirements for the icons:
- The website has editable 3-part CSI-formatted specifications for their products online. We recommend that the files be available in a Word document. You might consider having WordPerfect and RTF for ease of use, but not required. PDF's are not accepted for the icon.
- The website has editable CAD details for their products online - on their website. We require that the details be available in a DWG format with a DXF format as an alternate. In addition, providing the detail as a viewable PDF file can also be helpful to the specifier or other user not working with CAD.
- The website has BIM objects available for Revit, Graphisoft, Bentley Architecture, or VectorWorks Architect.
- The website has a LEED™ statement about how their products fit into a LEED™ certified project.
To get the 4specs' icons, the CAD details and specs cannot be in a password-protected area. Our users tell us they do not like giving out personal information and will frequently go to another manufacturer's website to get the information rather than fill in a form and give their contact information.
